Who Needs The Saviour?

If my religion, good works, prayer, Bible reading, baptism, or just plain belief in God could get me to heaven, then why did God send us the Saviour?

     For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.  Luke2:11

     Adam and Eve were driven out of the Garden of Eden by committing “one” sin.  How many sins does it take to miss heaven?

     For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.  James 2:10

     The issue isn't “how many” sins, but have you ever sinned!!

     For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;  Romans 3:23

     If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.         I John 1:8

     “Good News” Jesus came to this earth to pay our sin debt for us.

     For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:  I Corinthians 15:3-4

     Jesus said we must repent.

     And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.  Mark 1:15

     Gospel means Good News. We must turn from our own thoughts and ways and believe the Gospel.

     I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.  John 8:24

     We must fully believe to the point where we are willing to act on our belief and cry out to God and ask him to save us by faith.

     That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  Romans 10:9-10

     For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.  Romans 10:13

     We must come to God through Jesus Christ.

     Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the father, but by me.  John 14:6

     Who needs the Saviour? We all do.

     And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.  Acts 17:30-31

     Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.  Isaiah 45:22
